Sometime during my preteen years, I made a yellow cake with chocolate icing.
I tripled the recipe and poured the batter into three pans 9 in. in diameter.
The layers came out good in texture in taste. But they turned out bigger in height.
Once the cake was frosted, it looked like something out of a cartoon. But it tasted
delicious on the first bite.
The next time I made a cake with a tripled recipe, I would used pans 16 in. in diameter.
